After a baby is born, people often forget to buy presents for the new mom. First choose a container-basket, instead of this you can use wooden box or bucket, having enough room for the gift basket filler. New mom would be delighted to receive gifts she can use for pampering her such as body lotions, bath salts, bubble bath, scented candle, face mask, bath pillow, scented soap, body brush, body butter, pedicure set, pretty sleepers or other spa gifts which will make her feel relaxed. When putting fragranced items together, keep the different scented items separate so that fragrance will not seep into each other. New mommies have lots of stress, so to make her relax give her a basket full of stress relievers. You can put a relaxation CD, a spiritual book, massage roller, chamomile tea, an eye mask and brownies which will help her to reduce her stress.

In the end, wrap all gifts in a colorful gift wrap; cover some of the gifts completely to create a surprise when the basket is unpacked. Put a layer of shredded tissue paper or colored paper at the bottom of basket to make cushion to support the gifts. Place all the gifts horizontally, some of them vertically and add some filler as space allows.
After adding filler in the basket, artfully arrange the gift items. Choose a basket considering your gift items. After placing all gifts in basket, choose clear cellophane and wrap the basket. A colorful bow or ribbon in a complementing color makes a great finishing touch.
